Holy Innocents Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking an Annual Fund Director. HIES is the largest Episcopal Parish independent day school in the country, serving 1,400 students and offers a fully accredited college preparatory program for students age three through 12th grade. Holy Innocents mission is to develop in students a love of learning, respect for self and others, faith in God, and a sense of service to the world community.
HIES is located north of downtown Atlanta, Georgia in Sandy Springs. The Annual Fund Director reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement and works closely with the entire Development team. This is a calendar year, fulltime position. Position Overview
The Annual Fund Director will be responsible for annual giving initiatives at HIES. Under the supervision of the Director of Institutional Advancement, responsibilities include:
Work with the Director of Institutional Advancement to set annual giving goals each year which maximize support for the Schools top priorities.
Identify, recruit, motivate, mange, train and support Annual Fund volunteers for Parents (overseeing the Parent Annual Fund Committee, Grandparent Chairs, and Faculty and Staff.
Solicit every HIES constituency group for the Golden Bear Annual Fund, including all Faculty and Staff, Parents, Grandparents, Parents of Alumni and Friends. Partner with the Director of Alumni Relations to provide support for Alumni giving as well.
Assist in evaluation of Annual Fund donors and determination of ask amounts, while thoughtfully taking into consideration capital campaign solicitations and status.
Oversee HIES Giving Day, held each fall to encourage Annual Fund giving across all constituencies. A day to give back to the school and engage the community via e-solicitations, social media, video, and events on campus.
Organize, lead, and staff Annual Fund planning meetings, volunteer training, and appreciation events.
Create strategies designed to keep constituencies meaningfully involved in school life and, more specifically, educated, involved, and informed regarding the importance of annual giving.
Compose solicitation and acknowledgement letters for all constituencies.
Work with the Director of Communications and Communications team to create a powerful and effective marketing platform for all Annual Fund efforts including printed and digital publications, website, giving pages, social media and giving platforms.
Implement and manage the solicitation process including personal meetings, mailings, phone-a-thons, email solicitations, and calls with specific attention to moving donors to a higher level of support (Leadership Circle donors, $1,959 or more annually.)
Prepare and distribute reports detailing Annual Fund progress and statistics.
Coordinate with the Development Assistant and Director of Advancement Services to ensure accurate implementation of Annual Fund policies and procedures related to gift entry, acknowledgements, and pledge reminders.
Provide meaningful and effective stewardship to Annual Fund donors and volunteers.
Assist with major campaigns
Other duties as assigned by the Head of School or the Director of Institutional Advancement.
Required Education, Skills and Abilities
Bachelors Degree or masters degree and three-to-five years of fundraising experience at an independent school or university.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and a demonstrated ability to exercise sensitivity and good judgement in dealing with donors, staff, and the public.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Knowledge of Blackbauds Raisers Edge preferred.
Knowledge of GiveCampus preferred.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated success in working with and motivating volunteers.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and interact positively with a wide range of individuals.
