Overview
The dropzone gatekeeper is responsible for submitting all requests for bulk product and packaging needed by production to complete portions, meal bags and customer boxes during their scheduled shift through the WMS Requests app. The gatekeeper is expected to monitor production progress, walk the production floor to review the amount of product at production stations, communicate with production leads and runners for needs, and work with warehouse runners to manage accurate fulfillment of requests based on quantity, description, and expiration dates. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Responsibilities
Material Distribution (Issue to Production):
- Using internal systems to request product from warehouse, monitor production progress, and verify information prior to production consumption including
- Verifying Menu Week
- Validating Allergens
- Verifying Ingredient IDs
- Alert management of any defective, damaged, or spoiled product
- Monitoring substitutions and procurement notes
- Assisting with FIFO Management and ensuring date codes align with meal expirations
- Ordering the correct amount of product to the correct drop zone
- Only requesting the amount needed for the quarter (every 2 hours or as needed)
- When meals are near completion, order the volume needed to complete the meal. Refer to the Ops App meal bagging tab for goals needed per meal.
- Monitoring product needed as shift nears completion, as well as setups needed for the following shift
- Working closely to communicate and collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure we minimize downtime by keeping tabs on rates at the tables as well as following up on “queue” from the warehouse
Drop Zone Organization
- Ensure drop zone is clean, organized, and free of safety risks including loose wrap, straps, broken or empty pallets, and within the boundaries of the drop zone
- Ensure the product dropped matches the zone or designation area it’s intended to be used in (Cooler drop for drop zones managed by temp, area for drop zones managed by area)
- Move pallets with a manual or powered pallet jack if necessary with proper PIT certifications where required
Inventory Management
- Ensuring proper stock levels are maintained in drop zone based on progress submissions and production requests
- Ensure pallet tags remain on the last case used
- Assist with returning decanted product back to warehouse ensuring all necessary lot code, brand, dates, etc are present or disposing of items and logging on waste tracker for visibility
- Own and assist with inventory traceability movements from drop zone to pod, as needed

Qualifications

- General high school degree, or equivalent, (e.g. GED).
- Computer skills (PC or laptop use, Microsoft Office, Basic Typing)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, preferably in a distribution or materials handling role.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately count and track inventory.
- Ability to use a manual pallet jack
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
Hourly Range: $19.00 - $23.00
