Job Purpose

The primary role of the Restorative Aide is to provide and monitor structured Restorative Nursing services to assigned residents in collaboration with therapy staff in accordance with current applicable federal, state, local, and facility standards, guidelines and regulations, as directed by the Vice President of Clinical Services, to assure the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide and monitor structured Restorative Nursing modalities according to the resident’s Care Plan as assigned by the Vice President of Clinical Services and in collaboration with therapy staff.
- Continually promote the mission and values of the organization.
- Adhere to facility procedures and desktop instructions at all times making recommendations for revisions as necessary.
- Report concerns, suspected abuse, neglect, mistreatment or misappropriation immediately to administrative or supervisory team member protecting residents at all times.
- Encourage residents to perform and participate in treatments to the highest level possible within individualized functional limitations whenever possible.
- Provide feedback of resident progress and response to treatment to appropriate therapists and Vice President of Clinical Services as required and as needed.
- Complete and submit documentation that is appropriate, accurate, descriptive, timely and reflective of each resident’s response to care as required.
- Perform administrative requirements including completing required documentation and reports and submitting them to the Vice President of Clinical Services timely as required.
- Maintain and promote a positive atmosphere of warmth, collaboration and cooperation respecting residents’ rights to confidentiality, individuality, and privacy at all times.
- Assist direct care staff when possible to provide the highest quality of care delivery.
- Establish and continually maintain good rapport with residents, interdepartmental and administrative team members, therapists, families and guardians.
- Maintain certification and keep abreast of changes in the field of Restorative Nursing by participating in available educational opportunities and annual skills validations.
- Attend and participate in departmental, Restorative and mandatory meetings and trainings as required.
- Assist nursing department in meeting financial objectives by utilizing resources judiciously at all times.
- Maintain compliance with proper infection control practices, precautions and safety procedures at all times reporting concerns immediately.
- Maintain and utilize equipment in a clean and safe manner, reporting concerns immediately.
- Make recommendations regarding needed equipment or supplies when necessary.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Current State Registered Nurse Aide certification (Certified Nurse Aide) in good standing with the Kentucky Board of Nursing / State Nurse Aide Registry is required.
- Minimum one year experience in a hospital or long term care facility is required.
- Current CPR / Basic Life Support certification for the healthcare provider certification is required.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must possess and be willing to use good judgment, clinical, and communication skills to provide the highest practicable level of Restorative Nursing Care.
- Must function independently with minimal oversight and with flexibility, personal integrity and compassion while providing care to individuals from diverse backgrounds with varied functional abilities.
