We're seeking a dynamic Commercial Loan Assistant to join our team. As the Commercial Loan Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting and assisting the Commercial Lending Team. Your responsibilities will include accurately preparing, delivering, reviewing, and processing Commercial, Agricultural, and Consumer loan documentation to ensure the bank operates seamlessly and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with commercial lenders to close and fund loans, prepare loans, review loan files for completeness, prepare loan documentation, and handle customers'/prospects' inquiries and applications.
- Respond to customer inquiries and requests as directed by the commercial lenders.
- Provide courteous, professional customer service by receiving, screening, and transferring telephone calls.
- Process Paid Loans on time, ensuring that collateral is released when appropriate.
- Completes ordering services from outside sources for title insurance, appraisals, lien searches, environmental assessments, flood certifications, certificates of good standing, etc. Follows up as needed when items are delayed.
- Obtain documentation necessary to perfect a lien, clear a real estate title, file a lien, or any other documentation requirements to facilitate a loan closing.
- Prepares a loan document worksheet/checklist on approved loans for closing document preparation. Review prepared documents before closing for accuracy.
- Book a loan after closing is complete by completing the board datasheet and building new ports. Enter financial ticklers on the bank tracking system for further follow-up.
- Monitors document exceptions/ticklers to limit bank risk. Update ticklers promptly as the bank receives documents.
- Processes construction draws and maintains draw files while loans are in the draw phase.
- Prepare loan documents for scanning. May scan and review documents as needed to ensure the completion of the loan scanning process.
- Review maturing loan reports and work with lenders to determine payoff/renewal status. Review loan files and request borrower information for loans expected to renew. Enters ticklers as needed for items identified through review.
Education and Experience
Education Required= High School Diploma.
Education Preferred = Associate degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
Experience Required= A minimum of two (2) years of banking experience in processing commercial loans.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Work independently to organize and prioritize tasks, manage time to meet deadlines, analyze requests, understand issues, and develop appropriate solutions.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
- Previous experience and knowledge of loan products and terminology are required.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Fiserv Premier is a plus.
- Maintain a consistent positive attitude.
- Requires an outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic team-oriented personality.
- Must be able to work in person at our Litchfield MN, Willmar MN, or Hutchinson MN Office.
