What are the responsibilities and job description for the Options Manager position at Homebound?
Role Overview
The Options Lead will be responsible for building and managing Homebound’s options program in order to deliver an awesome experience for homebuyers while making things simple and easy for our internal teams. They will build out the entire end-to-end workflow to facilitate the creation of options, selections by customers, and the coordination with our procurement and construction operations teams once selections are made. They will also play a central role in the development of our Blueprint technology platform that will facilitate our options program. The Options Lead will be on the Architecture & Design team, but will work very closely with our procurement team, as well as sales and construction.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and manage National Option Master, working with our architecture, design and procurement teams. Define requirements for options in our database, including required details and documentation.
- Support development of the Homebound Options Strategy, driving a balance of complexity and value for the customer and Homebound.
- Participate in product development, working with our architecture and design teams to define options offering on a project.
- Develop reporting to track option performance and refine option program, including retirement/addition of options
- Build and implement tools to facilitate option selections and implementation
- Coordinate across teams to ensure accuracy and quality-control by our procurement and construction teams.
- Support the technology team to define requirements for Homebound’s technology product, working to identify ways automate the options management process
What You’ll Bring:
- 5 years of work experience at a production homebuilder, with meaningful experience in a role involving options coordination
- Experience in purchasing strongly preferred
- A desire to build from scratch! Comfort with ambiguity, a self-starter, a strong sense of ownership
- A deep understanding of how other builders manage options and a point of view on how it could be done better
- Strong organizational skills and ability to design new processes and drive continuous improvement
- Exceptional detail-orientation
