POSITION OVERVIEW
HomeFirst is seeking a Development Manager, Donor Stewardship responsible for creating, executing, and supporting a comprehensive, end-to-end donor acknowledgment, recognition, interaction, cultivation, qualification, solicitation, and stewardship plan—including the management of all data into and out of the donor-related CRM—to support all donors across all divisions of HomeFirst. The Development Manager, Donor Stewardship will strategically enhance donor engagement, providing creative solutions to enhance the relationship of donors with HomeFirst, thereby increasing the likelihood of continued contributions. In addition, this role is responsible for managing a portfolio of donors and ensuring the stewardship plan is executed at all levels. This position reports to the Chief Development Officer and will work closely with all members of the Fund Development Team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for end-to-end input, output, operations, management, maintenance, and upkeep of a donor-relations CRM software (currently Donor Perfect), including gifts, pledges, contacts, and more.
- Establish and maintain information-tracking process regarding acknowledgment, recognition, ongoing communications, and continued cultivation for past, current, and prospective donors, across all divisions of HomeFirst.
- Provide donor reports for appeals, mailings, reporting, solicitations, etc.
- Establish and maintain processes for monthly reconciliation of contributions with Finance Department and to ensure appropriate tracking of restricted gifts.
- Responsible for managing end-to-end donor stewardship plan including ensuring that members of the Fund Development Team manage and maintain individual engagement plans.
- Proactively support Fund Development stewardship activities by assisting team members in establishing and coordinating individualized stewardship plans for portfolio donors.
- Manage donor rosters, recognition, and benefit implementation for portfolios, invitations, emails, published lists, events, and more.
- Oversee a portfolio of annual donors below $1,000 with responsibility for identification, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgement, and stewardship.
- Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures of HomeFirst and the Fund Development Office.
- Schedule, organize, and manage invitation lists, responses, locations, catering, and more for development-related meetings, including regular Team meetings and monthly Committee meetings.
- Record and manage donor-related meeting minutes.
- Support the creation of a monthly donor impact report e-newsletter and various development-related social media campaigns.
- Partner with various departments on special projects.
- Represent HomeFirst Services and all its programs and services appropriately to volunteers, donors, outside agencies, and the public.
- Attend all mandatory meetings, workshops, and trainings.
- Management of accommodations and trave related to onboarding, meetings, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by Chief Development Officer.
COMPETENCIES
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience, or commensurate experience in non-profit fund development and/or CMS database.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Excellent computer skills and software expertise:
- Familiarity with DonorPerfect, or another fundraising CRM, is a plus
- Familiarity with DonorSearch is a plus
- Familiarity with Benevity, Network for Good, and Constant Contact, as well as all MS Office programs
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud preferred
