General Summary:

The Airplane Integration Manager is responsible for technical project management and end-to-end integration of a wide range of engineering projects across multiple teams to enable improvements to safety, quality, product performance and development efficiency. The integration projects will cover multiple programs including new airplane development and sustaining efforts on existing products. The Airplane Integration Manager is accountable for executing these integration projects within the Program Master Schedule and to adhere to key performance indicators for the technical performance of the aircraft.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Leads a team performing cross-functional technical integration, certification and project management in support of resolving complex technical issues in airplane development and sustaining environment.

2. Integrates, coordinates and develops technical approaches for engineering integration projects.

3. Leads engineering Risks, Issues and Opportunities RIOs to support Program and/or Project execution.

4. Facilitate meetings for risk assessments, risk mitigation planning, and development of certification activities to support program and program schedule.

5. Develops, coordinates and manages engineering integration program/project schedules and certification activities.

6. Interfaces with Engineering, Program Management Office, Manufacturing and other organizations as necessary to ensure engineering integration projects are completed according to program requirements and schedule.

7. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners from interfacing value stream team members.

8. Develops resource load plans and executes hiring to accomplish technical integration statement of work.

9. Supports supplier interface as needed to support execution of engineering integration projects.

10. Reviews engineering documents including drawings, test plans, test reports, etc.

11. Provides integration project updates and reporting to management and/or Program Leadership as requires.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

1. Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, mathematics or physics.

2. 10 year's of experience performing technical integration within aviation industry is required.

3. 3 year's of experience in aircraft structures and/or systems development preferred.

4. 1 year's of experience leading diverse, complex and cross function technical integration projects.

5. Familiarity with the Systems Engineering Disciplines of Systematic Problem Solving, Value Stream Engagement, Requirements Management, and Project Management Best Practices.

6. Experience with engineering quality impacts on the value stream and associated design process challenges.

7. Experience applying Systems Engineering principals in the Aerospace industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Working knowledge of aerospace engineering processes, certification requirements, and familiarity with flight test operations.

2. Working knowledge of FAR Part 23/25.

3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project software.

4. Working knowledge of CAD (CATIA preferred) and PLM Systems (TeamCenter preferred) preferred.

5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Power Point) is required.

6. Excellent communication skills and a self-starter that takes initiative without supervision.

7. Able to effectively communicate and present to Senior Program and Engineering Leadership.

8. Ability to work independently or within a team oriented environment.

Physical Requirements:

1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.

2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.

3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).

4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.

5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.

6. Effectively communicate in Business English language.

7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.

8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
