What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometrist position at Honda Optometry?
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect any ocular abnormalities or diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses or other vision aids as necessary.
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school.
- Valid state optometry license.
- Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye examinations and diagnosing eye conditions.
- Experience with pediatric optometry is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
- Ability to use electronic medical record systems, such as Epic, for documentation purposes.
