Overview
Honeywell International Inc. is seeking candidates for an opportunity as a Senior Legal Operations Specialist, who will report directly to an Assistant General Counsel on the corporate Export Compliance Leadership Team. The Senior Legal Operations Specialists will be responsible for a range of export compliance responsibilities focused onto IT systems compliance. jurisdiction and classification A key responsibility may include serving as the primary liaison between the corporate Export Compliance organization and Honeywell Enterprise IT on Honeywell’s Automated Export Compliance System (AECS), pursuant to Honeywell’s Consent Agreement with U.S. Department of State. Other responsibilities may include an enterprise-wide IT systems review to ensure that information controlled under export regulations is properly classified and stored in IT systems appropriate to manage export-controlled information. This individual should expect to contribute immediately to key process improvements between Export Compliance and Honeywell’s IT design and architecture teams.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in export compliance with U.S. regulations, as well as a solid understanding of the regulations regarding managing of information subject to U.S. regulations in IT systems in a large, multi-national company.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify IT systems improvements to strengthen management of export-controlled information and develop project plans for execution.
- Provide guidance on proper management of export-controlled information in IT systems
- Develop, edit, and communicate procedures and forms relating to IT systems management
- Assist with training and training development for IT systems’ management of export-controlled information
- Support export related audits including facilitating data requests
- Support the Export Compliance investigations team in issues relating to IT systems’ management of export-controlled information
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably Computer Science
- Technical expertise in product design, development, or manufacturing of hardware, software, or technology controlled under US export regulations, with a particular focus on encryption technologies or material processing
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in conducting jurisdiction and classification determinations
- Knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and specifically the classification entries within each jurisdiction.
- U.S. Person status as defined by the ITAR, or ability to obtain U.S. Person status.
