JOB SUMMARY
The Detroit Conference Center Hospitality Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the hospitality operations of our Detroit office conference center and Café 22 as well as ensuring an excellent “customer” experience by all who visit including clients and Honigman attorneys and staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep conference rooms and Café 22 fully stocked with needed supplies including but not limited to cups, napkins, and utensils.
- Regularly clean conference rooms and conference room serving counters to ensure they are prepared for the day’s next meeting or event.
- Regularly clean the Café 22 area including Café 22 tables, microwaves, dishes, sink area, and appliances so that all visitors enter into a clean and welcoming space at any point during the day.
- Work in tandem with the Central Services Assistant Coordinator who orders all food for catered events to ensure the menu is correct and properly served in a timely fashion.
- Oversee the food set ups, refreshing the food as required, maintaining the presentation and ensure proper sanitation and clean up is followed.
- Oversee the Detroit office Kitchen Attendant whose primary responsibility will be maintaining the kitchens and pantries elsewhere in the firm but who will also be assisting in the conference center and Café 22 as required.
- Identify problems and suggest needed changes in methods and procedures to the Director of Operations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while potentially juggling multiple activities at once.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of hospitality procedures and best practices.
- Prior food service experience required, Serv-Safe certification a plus.
- General knowledge of serving of food in large and small quantities, food quality and values, proper practices used in receiving and storing food, special dietary requirements, and kitchen sanitation and safety measures used in food handling.
- Outstanding verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively with others.
- Able to work efficiently in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Handle visitor complaints when necessary.
