Job Description
Tutulu LLC is currently seeking a Entry to Mid-Level Military Planner to join our team. The primary duties of the Military Planner are to assist in planning medium- to large-size DoD facilities, complete other Federal asset management projects, and assist in development of documents in compliance with Federal and DoD policies. Produced documents include Vision Plans, Capacity Utilization Studies, Requirements Analysis, Area Development Plans, Area Development Execution Plan, and Installation Planning Standards with senior level supervision. Requires ability to coordinate on-site data collection and charrette workshops, participate in breakout stakeholder interviews (under senior supervision), and prepare workshop / charrette deliverables.
Candidates need to have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.). Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to gather relevant information to solve less than well-defined planning problems. The strongest candidates should have workshop facilitation experience, be able to work on several projects or issues simultaneously and effectively manage their time to meet firm deadlines, working individually or as an integrated team. Must have current passport (some travel required) and ability to travel internationally, as needed.
Work locations for this position include Centennial, Colorado, Huntsville, Alabama or remote home office.
- Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge of military planning documents such as Area Development Plans, Area Development Execution Plans, Regulating Plan, Installation Development Plans, Facility Requirements Analyses, Utilization Studies, Facility Space Optimization Plans, Planning Charrettes and DD Forms 1391 Development (PAX system)
- Knowledge of planning disciplines, such as urban planning or design, environmental planning, military planning, economic development, or land use
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software programs indigenous to the practice of military planning, such as ASIP, RPLANS, ISR, HQIIS, etc.
- Solid understanding of GIS, CADD, Acrobat, and Adobe Illustrator
- Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve less well-defined planning problems
Required qualifications:
- BS or MS degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture or civil engineering
- AICP, PLA, RA or PE (or the ability to obtain)
- 3 years of community or military planning experience
- Possess analytical, graphic, verbal and written communication skills
- Possess time management skills with an understanding of project timelines and deadlines
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weigh up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.
