Job Responsibilities:
- Local vehicle operations involving position and moving trucks and trailers on and between warehousing facilities.
- Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor
- Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs
- Housecleaning – keeping yard clean, organized and cleared of trash
- Operates vehicle at all times in a safe and efficient manner, abiding by all Federal, State and Local laws.
- Transports trailers in the yard
- Responsible for assisting loading and unloading at warehouse – as needed
- Conduct all required pre-and post -trip inspections completing all DVCR’s to ensure vehicle is maintained in a safe and professionally operating condition.
- Participate in shift change brief
- Complete yard check forms
- Maintain an updated driver’s exemption log at all times and full compliance with all D.O.T. regulations.
- Starts reefer at truck lot.
- Records trailer box temperature on report when a trailer has product.
General:
- Follow and promote all company safety policies and procedures.
- Executes assigned duties with minimal supervision.
- Work week to include Saturday’s and holidays as assigned.
- Available for call-ins and required over-time to support critical situations.
- Maintain accurate records and logs as required.
- Maintain a clean & safe work environment, including interior of truck.
- Ensure proper maintenance of all assigned equipment.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Valid Class A.
- 1 year, minimum, CDL A experience
- Valid D.O.T. Medical Examiners card.
- Excellent driving skills, hand/foot-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Good record keeping / clerical skills
- Good far-visual differentiation and depth perception
- Good basic math and reading skills
- Good oral communication and human relations skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is desirable
