Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 100th year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture, and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets. Hooker Furnishings is currently hiring for a Supply Chain Coordinator to work out of our Martinsville, VA and/or High Point, NC location. With over 1,000 employees in 15 locations in California, Virginia, Georgia, and North Carolina including international operations in China and Vietnam, Hooker Furnishings is growing and looking for a highly analytical professional who is looking to work with a detail-oriented supply chain team.
 
Summary of Position
 
We are looking for an analytical individual with proven experience and great excel skills to improve the efficiency of supply chain operations through data collection, analysis, and execution.
 
The Supply Chain Coordinator will formulate and implement purchasing plans to aid in the operational management of multiple product groups - from initial product forecast to final product receipt in the distribution center. They will utilize historical demand and capacity planning information to execute the most efficient inventory plan. They will interact and effectively communicate within the organization on issues concerning the product for which they are immediately responsible.
 
Manufacturing and Supplier Base Locations for products:
China, Vietnam, India, Mexico, North, South & Central America

Responsibilities
  • Analyze, plan, schedule and release domestic and import purchase orders, transfer orders and/or blanket orders (as required) to produce specific objectives
  • Prepare and distribute monthly Sales & Operations Planning data
  • Maintain inventory levels as per the set targets
  • Demand Planning and forecasting tasks
  • Assist in resolving questions from warehouse and logistics personnel regarding container schedules, purchase order numbers, container discrepancies, the assigning of carton ids or printing of labels
  • Follow-up with assigned domestic and international supply chain personnel to ensure that the production/containers ship on time to meet customer deadlines
  • Compile reports to inform organization of any production delays and / or quality issues
  • Create and develop positive working relationships with key company personnel to establish constructive corporate team building
  • Develop training materials for Supply Chain Operations
  • Execute other critical supply chain operations duties as deemed necessary by Supply Chain management

  • High school diploma: college is a plus but not required

Shift: day shift/hybrid (flexible on start time between 7 am- 9 am)
 
Pay: DOE
 
Location:  This position can be based out of either our Martinsville, VA or High Point, NC location.
