Premier Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine is looking for a Pre-Registration/Workers Compensation Representative to join our Newtown Square, PA corporate office!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Verify insurance eligibility and workers comp benefits for patients scheduled for services.
- Obtaining referrals from primary care providers and/or insurance websites as assigned.
- Contact insurance companies via phone, email, or online insurance portals to obtain benefit details.
- Document and update insurance information in the patient account in the Athena system.
- Address and resolve any discrepancies related to insurance verification.
- Maintain detailed notes regarding insurance verification activities in the patient Athena account.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding patient privacy and insurance verification processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in insurance verification, front office or medical billing.
- Familiarity with insurance terms, policies and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using online insurance portals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of various insurance plans including Workers Comp, HMO’s, PPO’s, Medicare, and Medicaid. Understanding of Co-pays, Co-insurance, and deductibles.
- Insurance company web portals.
- Ability to “think outside of the box” to analyze a problem and execute a solution.
