What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Living - CL Manager position at Hope Haven Inc.?

Hope Haven is an accredited resource for disability services and advocacy. We offer service programs and support to meet a broad range of needs for children, adults, and families – from physical, mental, and intellectual to residential, vocational, and spiritual.

PRIMARY DUTY is the management of staff, including hiring, firing, training, and supervision. The manager is also responsible that all Home and Community Based Services, habilitation services, and county SCL services meet the requirements of the licensing bodies and Hope Haven Inc. and operate within established budgets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
1. Responsible for the hiring process, orientation, training, supervision and evaluation of assigned staff in accordance with Hope Haven Policies and Procedures.
2. Responsible that managed services meet/exceed applicable licensing and/or accreditation standards/regulations.
3. Responsible that assigned programs operate within established budgets.
4. Interpret and enforce all Hope Haven Policies and Procedures as they pertain to assigned staff and programs.
5. Member of the Admissions team as it relates to persons who are referred to managed services.
6. Assure regular contact with staff in all communities.
7. Overall supervision of “program care” in each service setting to assure individual client needs are being met.
8. Work cooperatively with other agency staff in developing effective teams.
9. Promotion and development of managed programs.
10. Responsible for all aspects of safety. Provide safety training. Review safety practices annually.
11. Ensure service sites are maintained to provide safe environments for staff and clients to live and work.
12. Complete performance management system (PMS) report and implement within services.
13. Promote community understanding of Hope Haven and its mission within the communities and churches in cooperation with the administration and Public Relations Coordinator for Hope Haven.
14. Other duties as assigned by the Area Manager of Community Living and/or Director of Community Living Service.
15. Actively involved in leadership training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Require physical strength and flexibility to assist the individuals with outdoor and indoor maintenance (i.e. shoveling snow, raking leaves, standing on a ladder to clean windows, moving furniture, carrying boxes, vacuuming, and mopping floors, etc).
2. Requires physical mobility to walk, stoop, stand, sit, and climb steps.
3. Requires the physical strength to assist individuals in transferring as per Hope Haven policy.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. BA or BS degree in human services field; Master’s degree preferred.
2. 5 years experience in a supervisory or management role preferred.
3. Ability to manage time effectively.
4. Committed to the philosophy of integration.
5. Proven leadership/management abilities.
6. Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
7. Computer literate or have basic knowledge computer skills.
8. Willingness to complete agency training program.
9. Clearance from all applicable background checks as required by service standards.
10. Ability to pass a health assessment at time of hire and ability to maintain up to date health assessment as requested per regulations.
11. Reliable Transportation in order to be mobile between managed sites.
12. Take and pass medication administration course.
13. Provide proof of state minimum liability insurance coverage.
14. Valid Class C driver’s license required, unless driving a vehicle with a capacity of 8 or more, then a Class “D” license will be required and be an insurable driver with our insurance company.
15. Provide proof of state minimum liability coverage.
16. At least 21 years of age to be qualified as Administrator of RCF/ID facilities per IAC 481-Chapter 57.10
