Position: Residential Monitor

Facility: HOPE Transitional Treatment Center

Location: 1000 Industrial Dr, Henderson, TX 75652

Rate of pay: $15.00 per hour

Work schedule: Full-time; 10 hour shift; 4 days on / 2 days off

Position summary: A residential monitor performs duties directly related to the facility operations to ensure safe, sanitary and orderly conditions exist around the facility in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) directives.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Provides direct supervision of the resident population and reports immediately any suspicious activities or violations of policy procedures, rules and/or regulations by residents and/or other individuals.
  • Inspects and evaluates physical and sanitary condition of facility and resident living quarters on assigned shift and provides written documentation of such inspection.
  • Enforces safety, security and operational regulations and restrictions of facility operations and establishes procedure for granting personnel or visitors access to classified material or entry into restricted areas.
  • Performs accountability inspections and counts of the resident population to ensure all resident locations and physical presence on the facility.
  • Assists with the coordination of intake and discharge of residents during approved times and documents arrivals and departures at the facility in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Completes documentation including sign in/out logs, leave passes, and any other records required.
  • Keeps updated list of all resident assignments to include housing, community service and programs.
  • Leads instructional classes for residents as directed by management.
  • Conducts drug testing of residents in accordance with MTC and TDCJ policies and directives.
  • Supervises the self-administration of medicine by residents.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • It is expected that the incumbent will work overtime when directed to do so.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
  • Six (6) months of experience at a residential or similar facility preferred. Preference will be given to individuals who possess work experience in the operations of a residential facility.
  • Computer skills and knowledge is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record is required.

Post-hire requirements: Within six (6) months of hire must successfully complete T4T (Training for Trainers) and annual training requirements. Must successfully pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by TDCJ. Must pass a drug screen.
