At Hope Tree Counseling Services we are an out- patient mental health counseling agency located in Waterloo, IA. Hope Tree is dedicated to serving families in Waterloo and surrounding areas. Our space is designed to promote the healing with two play rooms, sand tray and nature inspired offices. In addition we have 10 acres of outdoor space, a horse, chickens and miniature donkeys to partner with in sessions. Seeking a fully licensed LMHC, LMFT or LISW therapist, would consider LMHCt with experience working with children. Experience working with children under age 10 required . Additional training in Trauma work, Play therapy, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Brain Spotting, Sensorimotor, ART, EMDR, Art Therapy, or EAMH (equine assisted mental health) a plus. This position is either part time with a minimum requirement of 12 sessions per week or full time with 25-30 sessions per week. Must be available to work at least two evenings a week. Successful Candidates:

• Will have a dedication to working with diverse populations and a strong multi-cultural competency as evidenced by training, experience and education and/or desire to grow competency in this area.
• Are comfortable learning from, and alongside, mental health clinicians from differing backgrounds and degrees in a collaborative and supportive manner.
• Have acceptance and openness for a nature and animal assisted work environment that supports and encourages nature and animal oriented interventions in addition to training and practice support of evidence based therapeutic interventions, techniques, and strategies.
• Masters or Doctoral Degree in Mental Health Counseling or Masters in Social Work, PhD Psychology
• Fully Licensed as a mental health professional in the State of Iowa (LMHC, MSW, LISW ). Will consider LMHCt for right candidate
• Additional qualifications or experience in treating trauma a plus.
• Interest and experience in using technology and interest in providing telehealth services

PRIMARY CLINICAL DUTIES:

• Complete Diagnostic Assessment and Intakes
• Manage psychotherapy notes, intake/ assessment data and treatment plan documentation in EHR
• Completing thorough outpatient treatment plans with clear and measurable clinical and counseling goals.
• Document all sessions using Theranest Calendar
• Individual and family outpatient psychotherapy with timely clinical documentation in the EHR system
• Complete weekly billing sheets
• Communicate effectively
• Demonstrate competent use of DSM-V
• Work independently and think critically
• Adjust their approach to the specific needs and developmental levels of each client
• Perform outreach and marketing to build their client load and generate referrals for counseling
• Desire to expand therapeutic knowledge and explore new ways to work with clients via trainings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including EHR of Theranest, online training modules, the employee timesheet and the performance appraisal system. Job specific systems are also required.
• Must possess the ability to work independently and organize time and task

Pay: $40-$80 an hour ( range depends on insurance reimbursement rates and hours worked)
