The Part-Time Crisis Worker will enhance job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and will exhibit qualities of acceptance, empathy, and objectivity while being non-judgmental, non-directive, and responsive to the feelings of callers.
Duties :
We are seeking a Part-Time Crisis Worker to respond to crisis hotline calls and text messages according to established protocols, assess the degree of callers' risk, ensure the confidentiality of callers and any information shared, provide callers with referrals to resources, and call for emergency medical and / or police intervention if necessary.
Qualifications :
- Must successfully complete mandatory 60 hour. Please click link to see upcoming training schedule : Training Schedule
- Ability to work :
- At least one weekly 8-hour shift of Midnight-8am Monday-Thursday and / or 8 pm-12 am Friday and Saturday nights;
- weekly on-call shifts of Midnight-8am;
- weekly or occasional 4-hour shifts of Midnight-4am or 4am-8am; and
- pre-scheduled 8-hour holiday shifts of midnight-8am, 8am-4pm, or 4 pm-midnight
- Must be prompt and reliable with ability to remain alert on overnight shifts
- Computer experience and proficient typing skills
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
- Maturity and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Reliable means of transportation required
- Prior experience working overnight / swing shifts preferred
