Who We Are:
The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking an Student Support Facilitator at Horace Mann Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. As a Student Support Facilitator you are required to:
- Valid Ohio teaching certificate issued by the Ohio Department of Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, Master's Degree preferred
- A minimum of two years of classroom experience preferred
- A minimum of two years of demonstrated leadership experience preferred
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of computer and software, and an ability to learn and utilize educational platforms
- Knowledge of appropriate safety equipment, precautions and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and multitask
- Must be comfortable handling diverse and difficult situations
- Supports and maintains the Positive Behavior Support system within the building
- Works with faculty and students to reinforce a student discipline management system driven by the principles of PBIS
- Openly engages students using approved and appropriate methods; supports and utilizes PBIS techniques and strategies
- Identifies and assesses barriers and challenges in the classroom to support teachers
- Attends building-wide staff and BLT meetings
- Prepares for and attends meetings such as, but not limited to, IAT/IEP, Mediation, Juvenile Court
- Initiates RTI process in conjunction with teacher
- Serves as the lead for RTI processes
- Supports the school’s commitment to social emotional learning (SEL)
- Conducts classroom walkthroughs and observations and analyzes related data in conjunction with principal, office team to improve school-wide and classroom instruction
- Analyzes and uses data to support improved school operations
- Monitors multiple student data sources to support the development of instructional and intervention decisions to maximize student achievement
- Coordinates the administration of statewide and NWEA Map assessments in the building
- Partners with the Principal to identify appropriate technologies
- Provides student supervision, including but not limited to: before and after school and lunchroom duty?
- Participates in investigation process as needed when student/staff issues arise
- Oversees the training plan for all paraprofessionals
- Adheres to building and District policies and procedures
- Partners with District Safety Committee//Security /Law Enforcement/ Ohio Department of Job and Family Services when/as needed
- Interviews and trains staff and faculty as assigned by Principal
- Attends TBTs when necessary to provide support with analyzing immediate, intermediate, and long-term data related to student academic and behavioral performance
- Coaches and supports classroom teachers and staff with the implementation of PBIS and classroom management
- Provides support to individuals or groups of students on a regular and ongoing basis to reinforce positive learning behaviors
- Provides teachers coaching support with classroom management
- Attends and comes prepared to office team meetings?
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Assists with school mentors, volunteers, parent organizations and community support systems
- Works in coordination with the Principal to resolve parent complaints and/or student concerns
- Performs all other duties as assigned
What We Offer:
As a contracted employee, Student Support Facilitators work 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day with 10 extended days
Starting salary is $40,102.00 with increases for additional education and experience.

The Board of Education is currently working on a new professional agreement. While that is in the works, please refer to the current agreement as to pay and benefits that are in place for the 2022-23 school year.
