Engineering Technician Position:
In this role, you will help with the assembly and maintenance of hardware components and robotic systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Soldering components, wires, and cables per IPC 610 or IPC 620.
- Performing cable routing.
- Mechanical benchtop work including using power tools
- General assembly and maintenance of robotic and computing equipment
- Mechanical and cosmetic inspection of prototypes
- Troubleshooting with a digital multimeter.
- Maintaining clear communication with the engineering team and management
- Updating and maintaining electronic log books and status reports
- Maintaining an organized and presentable work area
- Working collaboratively with the development team
- Designing, ordering, and assembling simple PCBs and electronic enclosures
- Reading, maintaining, and editing wiring diagrams
Required Qualifications and Abilities:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Excellent hands-on skills and experience
- Extensive experience performing electrical benchtop work
- Understanding of basic circuit components and electrical laws
- Good communication skills (verbal, written, and visual)
- Good organization skills
Desired Qualifications and Abilities:
- Some college, an Associate’s degree, a technical/trade school certificate/diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience with/ability to design rigid and/or flexible PCBs
- Understanding of common manufacturing processes including injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, etc.
- Previous experience in a medical or healthcare-related field is a bonus
