RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all assigned analytical analyses in the Chemistry Lab in a safe, accurate and efficient manner including analyses using multi-component equipment.
- Provides training and technical assistance to trainees and technicians.
- Initiates and participates in Corrective Action Requests, Method Validation Projects, Continuous Improvement Projects and Root Cause Analysis
- Maintains Quality Control and ISO records as assigned.
- Performs other assigned duties within R&D Laboratories.
- Works independently under minimal supervision and group work in a leadership capacity with a continuing interest in the scientific area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Education - Successful completion of post-secondary education in a lab based, scientific discipline.
- Experience - 2 to 4 years of laboratory experience.
- Advanced lab skills including gravimetric, volumetric, titrimetric, spectrophotometric &/or chromatographic measurement utilizing computer interfaces.
- Knowledge of standard and non-standard analytical testing conducted in nutritional food chemistry laboratories.
- Strong computer skills including Lotus Notes, Excel, Word, LabVantage LIMS, and individualized instrument software or equivalents.
- Communication - Listening, speaking and writing effectively while promoting dialog with focused feedback
