ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Production Manager, you will oversee and optimize the manufacturing process within our organization, ensuring that production runs efficiently, meets high-quality standards, and is delivered on time. Your role will involve coordinating various production activities, effectively managing resources, and implementing strategies to boost productivity while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Production Planning: Develop and execute production schedules that align with customer demand while optimizing costs and enhancing efficiency. Collaborate closely with procurement, logistics, and quality assurance teams to ensure a seamless workflow and timely delivery of products.
- Resource Management: Strategically manage production resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production goals while minimizing downtime. Continuously assess resource utilization and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Quality Control: Define and maintain rigorous quality control standards to ensure that all products meet or exceed customer expectations. Work in close partnership with the quality assurance team to resolve any deviations and ensure consistent product quality throughout the production cycle.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and protocols, fostering a safe work environment for all employees. Lead regular safety inspections, implement comprehensive safety training programs, and enforce safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Team Leadership: Inspire and lead production teams to meet and exceed performance targets. Provide ongoing coaching, training, and support to enhance team members' skills and productivity. Cultivate a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production department.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process enhancement and cost reduction. Implement Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other techniques to optimize processes, boost efficiency, and minimize waste.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including senior management, production staff, and cross-functional departments. Regularly report on production status, performance metrics, and address any emerging issues or challenges.
- Travel: Travel to Germany 1-2 times per year, with additional trips as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field; advanced degree or certification in production management is a plus.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- At least 10 years of progressive management experience.
- Proven experience in production management or related role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage, develop, and motivate teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to connect and build positive relationships with others.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, situation analysis, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of production planning and scheduling techniques.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and production management software.
- Understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
- Strategic thinking skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong commitment to excellence.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.
PAY RANGE AND COMPENSATION PACKAGE: Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience.
