What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ensemble position at Hornblower Cruises and Events?
The Ensemble members perform both song and dance in various venues onboard as well as assist with the routine passenger's activities and help coordinate the evening's activities. This position dedicates a large amount of time to socialization with the guests and participation in shipboard activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Participating in greeting and welcoming of our guests in on-board embarkation

Performing in all on-board production shows

Cleanliness and upkeep of all entertainment areas

Hosting any onboard activities scheduled by the E.D.M.

Performing at any/all entertainment venues as scheduled by the E.D.M. (This includes providing sheet music and scheduling rehearsal with the accompanist)

Greeting guests in the lobby after each production show

A minimum of 5 hours a week mingling/socializing in addition to scheduled activities

Participating in vocal and choreography rehearsals as the Show Captain or E.D.M. see fit

Adhering to any changes or additions to this list or any cruise layout

Actively participates in embarking duties such as loading, unloading, luggage carrying, etc., as needed

Participate and ensure participation of all USCG mandated drills and emergency procedures as directed

Performs other duties if required since above stated describe only a regular working day and may not be inclusive of every task needed to achieve results
Requirements & Qualifications:
Education:
- HS Diploma or Equivalent Required
Professional Certification(s) or License:
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) - if applicable, and/or ability to obtain and maintain
- Valid Driver's License
- Copy of DD214, if Veteran status
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
- Ability to interact with individuals at all levels in a pleasant and professional manner
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Ability to train and supervise employees
- Logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work assignments
- Must maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance
Experience:
- At least four years of experience in a position with similar duties and responsibilities
- Cruise industry experience preferred
Physical:
- Must submit to and pass mandated USCG physical
- Ability to meet and maintain the maximum onboard bunk bed capacity of 300 lbs.
- Ability to conduct work in a marine environment that is subject to some/all the following: confined spaces, uneven surfaces, variations in temperature, wake, and motion
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
Other:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident/incident testing.
- This position pays $175/day worked
