Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled financial professional with a strong background in the construction or home-building industry. This role is critical to our continued growth and success, ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management and stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control costs, ensuring efficient use of resources and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate and manage external audits and ensure timely and accurate completion of all audit requirements.
- Team Development: Establish and lead the finance and accounting functions, laying the foundation for future growth. Develop processes and systems to build a cohesive team over time.
- Systems and Processes: Implement and optimize financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller role. Experience in the construction or home-building industry is highly preferred.
