Job Posting for Subsurface Utility Technician at Horrocks

As a SUE Field Technician, you will support the the Arizona team by collecting field data, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities, Expectations, and Duties:
Obtains and maintains all required safety certifications
Thorough understanding of ASCE 38 guidelines and associated quality levels
Communicate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to the project
Manage time effectively, organize, and work on multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet project deadlines and client needs
Perform Sub-Surface Utility Engineering services for both internal and external clients
Accurately and efficiently collect field data
Coordinate with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met both in the office and in the field
Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings, and highway design plans
Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the companys's strategic goals
Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes to expose utilities
Must be able to lift 75 pounds, walk for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions, be willing to work evenings/weekends when required, and be willing to travel for overnight and extended stay projects as required
Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
1-2 years experience providing utility designating/locating services
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Additional schooling or training is a plus
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
Solid work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a team-player attitude
Excellent attention to detail
Must be able to quickly grasp new technologies
Able to occasionally travel out of town and work overtime
Should be able to walk long distances of several miles daily
Good driving skills and a clean driving record
Able to work in teams and get along with coworkers
Outdoor work in all climates
Work with clients in a professional manner
Survey, 811, or Bluestakes experience is a plus
Strong computer and technical skills; Auto CAD, MicroStation, or similar application is a plus
