What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN Float (FT) position at Hospice of Huntington?

The LPN will work primarily in an office environment and will work in the field as needed. This position requires experience working with Medicare, Medicaid and insurance providers and knowledge of the hospice benefit and state requirements. Must have the ability to adapt from the office environment to working in the field. If needed will act in the LPN and see patients as directed. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Excellent customer service skills are a must both on the phone and in person. Must have excellent computer skills, be organized, be a self-starter and be able to problem solve.
Minimum Qualifications:
- License to practice by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses. Must also possess license in Ohio or application must be in progress.
- Minimum of two years health care or customer service experience with demonstrated ability to establish good working relationships in person and by phone
- Two years’ experience working with computer applications including Windows systems and the Internet
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Insurance preferred; Medicare hospice benefit as well as state requirements for both OH & WV
- Knowledge of insurance and medical terminology, preferred
- Proof of liability insurance.
- Current driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling.
- Possesses the ability to travel to all of Hospice of Huntington’s service area.
