Job Description
Position Summary: Responsible for entering charges into patient care system, maintaining patient records in the patient care system and assisting with monthly billing.
Essential Duties:

Claims Processing and Review

Review provider visit notes for billing, payor source, level of care, location, complexity accuracy, and coordinates with providers to resolve any issues prior to claims submission.

Communicate with visiting providers to verify information and/or suggest corrections for provider approval then makes necessary corrections and/or additions to patient records as needed in accordance with organizational policies.

Enter visit review notes into EMR for physician and nurse practitioner visits for the purpose of communicating with Finance to release for billing.

Responds knowledgeably to inquiries from physicians and nurse practitioners regarding reimbursement questions related to visit documentation and billing codes.

Review of new provider visit notes for quality and completeness and report findings to the specific provider and/or Medical Services supervision.

Administrative

Provides administrative support to the Medical Services Department as required

Provides administrative backup to the Medical Services Coordinator as required

Assists with staff education and training as required

Qualifications
Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience.
Must be able to utilize a computer. Must have sensory abilities to process, review and correct detailed patient financial information and claims. Good communication skills with sensitivity are required to collect payment. Must be able to handle various contacts and working under pressure and deadlines.
