JOB SUMMARY
This position is for a Health Informatics Specialist who’s responsible for the interoperability of the Electronic Health Record that optimizes the documentation, mapping, and patient care as well as evaluates data and improve our healthcare services. Requires communication with the Providers at Liberty Regional Medical Center and all its entities. The position also requires administrative functions necessary which include but are not limited to performing the day to day workflow that encompasses the careful analysis of the E.H.R. System for continuous improvement. Working closely with all departments to improve efficiency and a steady progression towards a paperless medical record. Works with the Information Technology Department to ensure efficiency of the E.H.R. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times while communicating with medical staff, organization staff, patients, visitors, other departments and outside agencies. The position reports to the Director of Health Information Management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum level of Education: Equivalent to completion of four years of college in Informatics, healthcare administration, computer sciences, or a related field.
2. Formal Training: Skills with experience in planning, organizing, implementing, verbal and written communications preferred. Knowledge of Electronic Health System(s).

4. Work Experience: Intermediate typing and computer skills with previous experience in hospital setting preferred. Data Analysis, Development of training aides and conducting training, Building and mapping within an Electronic Health Record. Five (5) years in a health field related work environment.
