Research Analyst

The Hospital Industry Data Institute (HIDI), the data company of the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA), is seeking a research analyst to provide research-oriented analytical support to the MHA, its affiliates and hospital‑based clientele. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, finance, social science, mathematics or related field (master’s degree preferred). Must possess demonstrable experience with various forms of source data, performing complex data manipulations, selecting and applying modern analytics and multivariable statistical techniques using SAS and R. Applied experience with SQL, enterprise business intelligence tools (i.e. Cognos, Power BI), geospatial analysis tools (i.e. ArcGIS) preferred. Knowledge of the contemporary state and federal health policy landscape as well as common hospital encounter data sources highly preferred. Experience working with open source Big Data tools (i.e. Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive) and/or in Lean/Agile/Scrum team‑based development environments is a plus.
