What you will be doing

The Corporate Director of Revenue Strategy leads the revenue management and distribution strategy for HVMG's hotels. This position is part of the Revenue Excellence leadership team along with peers from the Sales and Digital Marketing disciplines. This position works closely with Operational leaders, Revenue Excellence leaders, the Brands, Asset Managers and Owners to drive value generated by HVMG's Revenue Excellence strategy.

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Lead and develop a team of remote-based revenue managers who manage all aspects of revenue management for portfolios of 6 – 12 hotels each.   
  • Create and implement best practices, support in Ownership reviews, property reviews, and all other aspects of leading a growing and developing revenue management team.
  • Monitor the development and performance of revenue budgets, forecasts, and market share targets.
  • Lead the development and execution of property specific and portfolio revenue strategies and performance goals for all managed hotels.
  • Act as subject matter expert on brand and independent revenue management systems.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on utilization and application of brand revenue systems.
  • Training on revenue management systems, HVMG forecasting process and suite of Revenue Excellence tools. 
  • Actively engage in promoting revenue management innovation and driving a revenue excellence culture internally as was as with external stakeholders (brands, owners, investors).
  • Participate, lead, and represent revenue management on assigned projects.
  • Lead ramp up process for takeover and new build hotels.
  • Lead the implementation of new tools as they relate to the revenue management function.
  • Act as liaison between the revenue management department and other partner departments when defining best practices, standards, and communication norms.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with hotel general managers, HVMG’s leadership team and peers. 
  • Plan and manage engagement with OTA’s and other distribution channels to leverage the most profitable terms and business mix for HVMG hotels. 
  • Analytical - ability to review numbers and draw quick conclusions about past and future trends from data.
  • Communicate business needs and marshal resources from other HVMG departments and disciplines.
  • Manage external and internal stakeholders expectations.
  • Use best judgement to escalate items outside their scope or sphere of influence.
  • Form persuasive, data driven and fact-based cases to support discipline needs and recommendations. 
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
    • Directly supervises 4-10 associates in the Revenue Management Department

      Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

      Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex strategies and concepts clearly and confidently to direct reports, peers, superiors, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead experienced senior teams through influence and work collaboratively with others to achieve desired results, along with strong team development skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with RMS, CRS, and PMS systems within branded as well as independent hotel environments.
  • Experience with Sales and Marketing Management software
  • Must be proficient in MS, Excel, and Opera Software.
  • Possess the ability to identify and utilize emerging trends and technology to generate revenue.
  • Analytical, extremely comfortable manipulating data.
  • Ability to drive both strategy and implementation of ideas.
  • Travel approximately 30% - 50%
  • Skilled in leadership, problem analysis, problem solving and decision making.

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Hotel Management, Business, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience, Required.
  • 10 years of progressive revenue management leadership experience and proven success, in a hotel in and similar above property role, Required.
  • Revenue management experience with Marriott, Required. 
    • Revenue management experience with Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt, Highly Preferred.
