What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Supervisor position at Hostess Brands?
Located onsite in Columbus, GA. Night Shift 8pm-6am Sunday-Thursday
The QA Supervisor is responsible for the implementation of quality systems and programs to ensure quality and food safety standards meet key performance drivers for the business. You will educate, train and coach appropriate personnel within the plant on the criticality of GMP, Food Safety, Business risk and Quality Management System activities and give recommendations and guidance to organization management on best practices.
This person will be responsible for:
- Harmonization and compliance of Hostess Quality and Food Safety Systems across assigned operations. Steward site policy and support transition of corporate policy to local policy
- Conduct line assessments to ensure facility and process is capable of producing product meeting Hostess expectations.
- Plant assist – Support Quality Manager and Operations Audit processes through line start-ups, change overs, walk-throughs, trials, meetings, and act as general designee to the Quality Manager
- Prepare various reports and metrics upon request
- Conduct necessary training courses and education (i.e. inspection/auditor, Food Safety)
We’d love to hear from people with these Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Technology (e.g., Biology, Food Science, Chemistry, etc.) or a BS in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Food, etc.) is preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in the food industry
- Solid knowledge of quality assurance
