Job Overview The Trade Analyst will ensure that trade promotions are appropriately planned, accrued for, and reconciled through the trade management system (TradePro). They will work closely with the Senior Manager of Commercial Finance, Accounting & Reporting, Field Sales, and brokers to ensure process adherence and consistency. The Trade Analyst will also be responsible for working directly with the sales team to achieve overall objectives.
Responsibilities
Works directly with broker and Field Sales to ensure promotions are loaded into the system accurately and on a timely basis.
Monitors accuracy of loaded promotions and ensures modifications are executed as agreed upon by Finance and Field Sales.
Monitors the execution of approved plans utilizing multiple sources to validate price points, items promoted, and volumes achieved.
Identifies spending issues and helps determine appropriate counter measures.
Works with deduction management team (internal and brokers) to ensure timely and accurately applied deductions to promotional events.
Plays a key role in development of volume and net revenue for the annual budget and quarterly outlooks for the Convenience and Cash & Carry businesses.
Partners with the sales team in assessing opportunities within the business to drive net revenue and gross profit for the company.
Acts as an expert and resource to the sales team for all finance related processes and systems.
Provides recurring analysis and reporting of indirect distribution levels and detailed sales volume.
Analyzes, researches, identifies, and provides data on customer specific events as needed.
Provides ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by management.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or trade marketing; experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry with a focus on trade promotion analytics is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or marketing is required.
Basic knowledge and use of Trade Promotion Management (TPM) systems either through broker experience or use at another Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company.
Ability to work with and learn new systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with a high level of proficiency in Excel.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally.
