SMASHotels is seeking a passionate, service focused Housekeeping Manager for its' one-of-a-kind luxury, lifestyle hotel that celebrates a creative class of consumers seeking artistically curated travel, dining and hospitality experiences. SMASHotels has set its sights high on competing with some of Chicago's most elite hotel's and restaurants, when it opens its new, ground up, one-of-kind, Hotel EMC2, and its marquee restaurant, the Albert, in April of 2017.

The new hotel and restaurant celebrates a creative class of consumers seeking artistically curated travel, dining and hospitality experiences. This unique property is located in the heart of the Chicago's Magnificent Mile, and is being developed by the creator of theWit Hotel. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Description
Oversee all hotel housekeeping operations and supervise personnel to ensure the housekeeping department operates in accordance with established guest
service and sustainability standards.

Responsibilities include, but are never limited to:
1. Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with SMASHotel's core values.
2. Inspect guest rooms, public areas and grounds for cleanliness, appearance and safety.
3. Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services and resolve guests' complaints and concerns.
4. Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to policies and procedures.
5. Take inventory and submit periodic inventory orders to insure supplies are purchased in a timely manner.
6. Be aware of and communicate guest service scores to drive improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
7. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the operation of the department or the hotel.
8. Comply with SMASHotel's internal audit standards pertaining to key control and risk management areas (I.E. lost and found, key control, guest room safety).
9. Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and third party contract labor.
10. Practice safe work habits; follow MSDS and OSHA standards; wear protective safety equipment and participate in safety committees as directed.
11. Assist in the continual search for better/equal products to carry out the departmental tasks at the lowest possible price.
12. Assist in the completion of employee performance appraisals on time maintaining objectivity and sincerity.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.
2. Show off the proper uniform/dress at all times and be well groomed.
3. Must be available to work nights, weekends & holidays.
4. Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
5. Previous leadership experience required.
5. Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty pounds.
6. Regular and reliable attendance.
