Job Summary:

Responsible for dispensing fuel in a positive, friendly, and safe manner into customers vehicles in a fast-paced environment. The Fuel Associate must be able to make the correct change. Open and close the site during the proper hours of operation. Make sure the property both inside and outside is clean and well-maintained including all bathrooms. Fuel Associate will also assist customers with air for their tires and oil for their engines. Fuel Associate will also clean customers windshields both front and back when time allows for it. The Fuel Associate delivers an exceptional customer experience that supports Hough’s vision to make the lives of our customers easier.

Principal Duties:

1. Dispense fuel in a positive, friendly, and safe manner into customer’s vehicles.

2. Collect money from customer’s and make correct change.

3. Provide customers with receipts.

4. Learn to operate the Point of Sale (POS) system.

5. Collect and dispose of trash properly.

6. Clean and stock bathrooms with supplies.

7. Provide directions if requested by customers.

8. Provide support to customers if requested to help with adding air to their tires.

9. Communicate management team regarding customer requests & concerns.

10. Wash both front and back windshields of the customers cars when time allows it.

11. Learn Oil Company loyalty and reward programs and be able to communicate them to the customer.

12. Assist Manager with daily reports.

13. Assist Manager with DEP Inspections.

14. Check Inventory Levels and communicate with Manager and Dispatch when needed.

15. Ensure the highest level of service to all consumers as they visit our location.

16. Assist Manager with daily price surveys (7 days/wk) for pricing staff at Hough Petroleum.

17. Maintain positive relationships with all customers.

18. Maintain positive relationships with all vendors.

19. Ensure that all local, state, and federal requirements for lawful operation of the gas station are being met.

20. Follow all safety protocols required for the gas station.

21. Help Manager target prospective commercial customers for the Gulf Fleet Card sales representative to target fleet card customers for the station.

22. Complete all DEP daily, weekly, monthly inspections are being performed and logged.

23. Ensure all DEP required licenses and paper work are properly logged and readily available for state inspectors.

24. Ensure all oil company POP is maintained and installed in a timely fashion.

25. Ensure a strong performance of 95% or better in the oil company secret shopper programs.

26. Complete outdoor housekeeping functions including using outdoor power equipment cleaning, power washing, sweeping, cleaning oil & gas spills and picking up and emptying trash. Wipe down the fuel area and restock all fuel area suppliers and products.

27. Must perform all other duties assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Eligible to work in the United States.

3. 17 years or older.

4. Must have reliable transportation.

5. Able to work early morning shifts, night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

6. Willing to be a team player, maintain integrity, and work hard.

Job Types: Part Time

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent or must be working towards your High School diploma.

Compensation: $15 to $17/hr.
