Job Summary:
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods into the warehouse. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of shipments, maintaining inventory levels, and coordinating with other departments to support the overall efficiency of warehouse operations. The idea candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Coordinate scheduling and the receipt of incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of contents and inspecting for damage.
· Process & maintain accurate records of inbound documents, such as bills of lading and packing slips, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
· Work closely with management to ensure all receiving activities are aligned with company goals.
· Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and customers regarding shipment details, delivery times, and product returns.
· Ensure all receiving operations comply with company policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
· Follow safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
· Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 1-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer in office estimated 80%.
· Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures estimated 20%.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
