Job Posting for Finance Manager at House of Hope Presbyterian Church
Seeking a full-time Finance Manager responsible for all financial activities of The House of Hope Presbyterian Church. The finance manager will provide work direction to administrative staff including accounting and human resource consultants. This position reports directly to the Director of Administration. Responsibilities include:
Maintain the financial records in accordance with proper accounting procedures.
Maintain strong and positive working relationships with members.
Maintain good working relationships with professionals such as bankers, auditors and suppliers.
Attend committee meetings as assigned or requested.
Provide assistance to the Director of Administration.
Handle all matters of confidentiality in a professional and appropriate manner.
Provide accounting and general administrative assistance which may include bank reconciliation, budget and audit preparation.
Prepare and execute adjusting entries as needed. Preparation of periodic and annual reports.
Assure that state and federal reporting is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
See that policies and procedures are well-written and reflect current procedures followed by House of Hope.
Manage a proper cash flow to meet obligations.
Work with the designated audit firm to assure the annual audit is prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
Oversee the administration of payroll for church employees.
Assure all tax reports are prepared and filed in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide assistance to the Mission Outreach Committee to assure grantmaking procedures are well documented and reflect the recommendations of the committees.
Maintain accurate paper and electronic files to ensure continuity of information and ease of information retrieval.
Preferred qualifications include:
A bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field or associate degree in accounting or finance with equivalent experience.
Demonstrated skill in fund-based accounting and account reconciliation.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and church management software.
A commitment to good interpersonal relationships, teamwork and support of church ministries.
A commitment to confidentiality regarding all account records, both of the church and staff, and the members.
Proven ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
Works independently and proactively identifies or initiates ways to enhance process, procedure or outcomes that benefit the organization.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated high level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
