ARABIC INTERPRETER
Position Summary:
The Arabic Interpreter is responsible for providing in-person and remote interpreting services. The successful candidate should be fluent in English and Arabic. Training on interpreting skills will be provided by House of Languages. This is a per diem position. A part or full time job might be available for an outstanding candidate.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person and remote interpreter services for House of Languages’ customers in a variety of settings, including medical, social service, educational, legal, and business
- Travel to interpreting assignments, mostly in the Biddeford area
Required Skills & Experience:
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
- Strong computer skills
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Must be extremely detail oriented, organized, and have excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers in a cross-cultural environment and maintain professionalism in all situations
Desired Skills & Experience:
- High school diploma or higher
- Education or work experience in language-related fields such as linguistics, teaching, translation, or interpretation
- Knowledge of medical or legal terminology
