HDC owns and/or manages over 3,000 apartments, providing housing that is safe and affordable to those with lower incomes, focusing on seniors, families, and individuals living with disabilities. Serving nearly 4,000 residents in 75 communities located in urban, suburban, and rural areas across Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland, HDC builds hope and opportunity for all residents to reach their full potential by creating, preserving, and strengthening affordable housing communities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small portfolio of properties as a Regional Manager to meet the property performance goals and HDC’s standards of excellence. Accountable for financial management of the properties, including but not limited to annual budgets, monthly/quarterly financial reports, and monitoring expenditures. 
  • Oversee the seamless relocation of residents during a renovation or rehabilitation of the property.  Act as the primary point of contact for residents with all communication related to the rehab. 
  • Develop comprehensive relocation plans tailored to the needs of the residents and scope of the rehabilitation. Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and seamless execution of relocation activities and adherence to all compliance regulations. 
  • Works collaboratively with Resident Services on shared goals and priorities to promote housing stability, resident satisfaction, and quality of life. 
  • Foster positive resident relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflict, and ensuring a high standard of customer service. 
  • Point of contact for all resident concerns that get elevated beyond the regional manager. Responsible for communicating trends to VP of Property Management and resolving conflicts promptly and professionally. 
  • Develop strategy and implement community-building initiatives with a trauma-informed approach across the portfolio to enhance the quality of life for residents. 
  • Collaborate with Director of Compliance and Senior Regional Manager in developing standards and protocols for evaluating and onboarding new acquisition opportunities.   
  • Represent property management in organizational-wide initiatives such as REDI Programs Committee, Employee Engagement, IT Committee, etc. 
  • Lead the development and annual evaluation/revision of Property Management Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Point of contact for Yardi related questions within the Property Management department. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization

    Skills/Education/Experience:

    • Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a valid driver’s license. 
    • Position prefers 10 years of industry-related experience, with 5 years of demonstrated management experience or assisting in troubled properties and demonstrate success area at the troubled properties. 
    • Strong understanding of landlord-tenant laws, relocation regulations, and fair housing practices. 
    • Rural Development Certification, LIHTC Certification, and HUD Certification. 
    • Position requires experience with an affordable housing background. 
    • Successful completion of drug screening and criminal background check.  
  • Normal work environment: 

     

           •Work environment will be indoors and outdoors and will require 60% annual travel. 

     

           •Requires moderate physical demands; lifting up to 25 pounds, continuous standing, bending,     

            SRPMwalking, and lifting.
