TITLE: Housing Forward Landlord Engagement Coordinator VISTA

REPORTS TO: Manager of Landlord Engagement- Marsha Jackson

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:

Housing Forward, formerly known as Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance (MDHA) is a backbone organization that leads the development of an effective homeless rehousing system. In partnership with 100 public, private, and nonprofit institutions, we make the experience of homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties rare, brief, and non-recurring. Housing Forward’s team members upholds the Organizational values of Teamwork, Equity, Servant Leadership, and Flexibility.

Housing Forward believes that effective solutions to homelessness are created with communities historically impacted by the systems we are attempting to transform. We strongly encourage applications from people who are representative of the culturally and ethnically diverse communities we work with. This includes people who have lived experience of homelessness.

MEMBER DUTIES:

Through this VISTA project, the VISTA member will contribute to Housing Forward's mission of making the experience of homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring in Dallas and Collin Counties by enhancing the capacity to secure stable housing for our unhoused neighbors. The successful development of housing partnerships will lead to increased housing placements and reduced homelessness within our community. The member will serve to alleviate poverty by enhancing and developing new relationships with landlords, property managers, and owners to ensure the successful placement of individuals and families experiencing homelessness into permanent housing.
