What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Dietitian II - PRN position at Houston Methodist?
The Clinical Dietitian Specialist provides Medical Nutrition Therapy for patients referred by their physicians for nutrition intervention. The Clinical Dietitian Specialist will assess the patient's nutritional status using recognized tools of assessment, recommend and instruct patient on the appropriate nutrition plan per the assessment or instruct the patient on the nutrition plan prescribed by the patient's physician. The Clinical Dietitian Specialist will also plan, implement and supervise the nutrition plan of patients enrolled in the Medical Weight Management Program and actively participate in planning, instruction and evaluation of the nutrition education component of the program.
- Assess the nutrition status of patients referred for MNT EF
- Develop appropriate nutrition care plans for patients referred for MNT and instruct patients on the nutrition plan EF
- Accurately and promptly document MNT care plan EF
- Correspond with other health care professionals regarding patient's nutrition care plan as indicated
- Plan, conduct and evaluate nutrition education component of the Medical Weight Management Program EF
- Implement and supervise the nutrition care of patients in the Medical Weight Management Program EF
- Remain current in clinical nutrition developments as applies to the patient population of Methodist Wellness Services
