Overview
JOB SUMMARYAt Houston Methodist, the CT Technologist I position is responsible for a variety of routine diagnostic computed tomography (CT) procedures to include common and special CT exams of moderate complexity with progression towards exams of higher complexity. This position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special CT procedures. The CT Technologist I position delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. This position is a member of the direct patient care team.
Hours for this role are Saturday-Monday from 6:30p-7a.

Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- None
License/Certification
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
- Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) or Temporary Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-TMPGC) thru the Texas Medical Board
- American Heart Association BLS and
- If less than 1 year CT experience:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (ARRT (R)) or Radiation Therapy (ARRT (T)) or Nuclear Medicine (ARRT (N)) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification (CNMT)) and
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in CT (ARRT (CT)) within 6 months
- If 1 or more years CT experience:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (ARRT (R)) or Radiation Therapy (ARRT (T)) or Nuclear Medicine (ARRT (N)) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification (CNMT) and
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in CT (ARRT (CT)) by the end of the month following 12 months of hire

- Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
- Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security

- Possesses basic computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems to include, Hospital / Radiology Information Systems and Office software to maintain patient and exam documents

- Adapts to multiple ongoing priorities with minimal supervision including, organizing work flow and actively participating in problem-solving
