JOB SUMMARY:
Works under general supervision to cut castings from gating using abrasive wheel and cutoff equipment ranging from total manual to fixture methods or several types of equipment. Operate mill equipment required to remove gating and operate KOH low temps, water blast, knockout and case blast equipment. Can be required to perform Power Pac/Shell Removal/Knockout. Continuously works to meet quality customer requirements with minimum inventory. Works as a team member in a cell environment to optimize product flow.

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 12 HOUR ROTATING NIGHT SHIFTS, 7:00 P.M TO 7:00 A.M. (2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off)
Starting pay is at $22.36 plus shift differential and a competitive benefits package.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Using Computers (entering information, etc.)
- Must be able to read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI).
- Must be able to function as a member of a team and be able to work under general supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Considerable care and attention required to prevent injury to self and others.
2. Cut parts from gating using abrasive wheel cutting equipment varying in complexity from total manual to complex set-ups on fixtured cutting equipment.
3. Ensures quality of castings.
4 Operates all cutting/shell removal equipment in department as assigned.
5. Keeps gating sorted, identified, and stored in proper alloy bin.
6. Performs semi-complex tasks and inspects results with standard gauges or devices.
7. Performs duties of Power Pac/Shell Removal/Knockout as required.
8. Operates mill equipment required to remove gating.
9. Verify lot travelers with castings to assure that all previous operations have been completed.
10. Keeps heats separated.
11. Selects and sets up fixtures for required task.
12. Informs supervisor of required maintenance.
13. Completes preventive maintenance as required.
14. Obtains and moves work as required.
15. Completes tasks per the PMS, Activity Instructions, Product Criteria or Temporary Instructions.
16. Depending on the business, the Cutoff operator can also be required to perform metal analyzer.
17. Complies with all EHS rules related to the work environment.
18. Performs other duties when required

- Work Environment: (Chemical and Physical Exposure)
- Constant exposure to seasonal temperature fluctuations, dust, dirt and loud noise in substantial amounts.
- Exposure to abrasive wheels, hot flying metal and abrasives and continuous lifting.
- Performs heavy laboring operations such as loading or unloading, manipulating and lifting pieces of castings weighing up to 50lbs. in substantial amounts.
- Exposure to Heat, Nickel, Silica and RCF
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic Computer skills.
- Prefer knowledge of saws.
