Howmet Aerospace is currently looking an Electro/Mechanical PMT to join our Casting Facility located in Dover , New Jersey.

Summary:

The Electro/Mechanical PMT performs maintenance services and repairs in the areas of Electrical and HVAC for assigned department/area of the plant.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all job-related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance as well as emergency breakdown repairs in order to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.
  • Be able to work with and diagnose problems related to electric machinery.
  • Assemble, install and /or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components on various machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manual and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Dismantle devices to gain success to remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools and replacing defective parts with new parts or repairs parts.
  • Inspect Operator and test Machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Support all TPM efforts
  • Manage AM and PM Schedule and back log
  • Train other Electricians personnel on equipment in area.
  • May be required to weld parts, and replace faulty wiring, switches or relays.


INTERPERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This works directly on a team with the engineering process owner and area supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED

  • Required to do frequent standing and lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 25 pounds.
  • This job also requires the use of hand and power tools as well as measurement equipment and computers.
  • The working conditions of this job vary but include exposure to mechanical moving equipment, precarious places, confined spaces, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, outside weather conditions and vibration.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Previous Electro/Mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years industrial Electro/Mechanical experience
  • Self Starter and able to manage time and multiple projects
  • Computer literate
  • Must be able to thrive in a team environment
  • Will need to work overtime when needed
  • Must be able to read blue prints and measurement instruments.
  • Must be able to teach and train others on equipment knowledge, troubleshooting skills and TPM.
  • Must master equipment in designated area within 180 days.
