  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience. Howmet Aerospace, Morristown Plant is growing. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Planner to support the Maintenance Team with the following actions. Work Order Planning
  • Actively participate in the receiving, approving & processing daily work request and establish priorities for jobs that are classified as ready for execution
  • Verify that the work request / order contains the correct information.
  • Actively participate in the detailed scoping out, assessment and verification of parts & / or service requirements for all jobs that has been satisfactorily evaluated and has been placed on hold due to the unavailability of requisite spare parts.
  • Actively scrutinize MP2 and change applicable work orders from a status of "under evaluation" to "READY" OR "work order in planning".
  • Perform daily queries on MP2 Database to filter out work orders that are classified as "work order in planning" and determine completeness of part(s) requirements and appropriately follow up where necessary.
  • Appropriately move work orders through MP2 by changing their status whenever it is discovered that a requested parts have become available.
  • Reschedule work order start date to that which is consistent with the arrival of the designated parts. (Where feasible, be prepared to schedule the execution of a job approximately two (2) days after the promised delivery date derived from the PO status report.)
  • Close-off of completed work orders, with real resources used in order to comply with weekly metrics and sustain MP2 work historical database.
  • Generate weekly programmed maintenance PM's following MP2 protocol. Material Requirements Planning
  • Work with Maintenance Supervisor to generate monthly & weekly forecasts of spare parts for the jobs that will be executed in the corresponding week and month.
  • Where necessary, perform detail research for part(s) requirements for certain work orders and ensure that the correct part(s) information / criterion is available for submission on a Material requisition form.
  • Where necessary, request bill of material & quote from OEM / supplier for critical components and ensure that all the detailed information is available for submission on the material request form.
  • Submit detailed & complete Material requisition form to department head (or designee) for approval and ensure that the MR flow is not hindered by the approval process.
  • Follow-up with approved material requisition form and ensure that the requisition are processed with a priority commensurate with the urgency and delivery lead time of the requested part(s).
  • Follow-up with Wolseley to minimize lag time between date of the material requests submission and the date that it gets processed and submitted to the supplier.
  • Verify parts requested on material request form to ensure that it is not already carried under a Howmet part number.
  • Establish estimated part(s) delivery schedule by performing Purchase Order analysis report query on MP2.
  • Receive and verify the reception of requisite spares and provide appropriate notification to Maintenance Supervisor for unscheduled execution of high priority jobs that were delayed due to unavailability of needed spares.

All other parts usage should be consumed on a scheduled basis.

  • Actively participate in the selection of parts meeting the criteria to be classified as a critical spare.
  • Prepare the necessary "Central stores part(s) addition form" so that the part(s) can be coded with a stock number & be incorporated under the central stores inventory system.

Work Order Scheduling Process

  • Actively participate in the monthly and weekly planning schedules and associated meetings and provide strong support for Maintenance supervisor & highlight necessity of maintenance requirements for certain equipment.
  • Receive daily work schedule and verify reception of materials & / or necessary tools for successful execution.
  • Generate maintenance schedules for all the members of the Work Team in such a way to efficiently utilize time and expertise.
  • Return un-used spare parts & materials to the warehouse & verify that warehouse credits them to the appropriate work orders and cost centers.
  • Collaborate with Supervisor & facilities engineering technicians to prepare detailed planning schedule for shutdowns. This should entail enlisting all maintenance activities, critical routes, sequence of activities and required resources (Spare parts, Labor, Equipment).
  • Prepare Microsoft Project Schedule for weekly maintenance routines. MP2 Administration
  • Audit execution of PM and PDM routines to guarantee their integrity, frequency and effectiveness corresponds to plant demand and assures that corrective actions are applied when necessary.
  • Works with ongoing improvement teams, identifying most impactful opportunities for improvement of the equipment Availability and Reliability and making the necessary updates in MP2.
  • Contribute to the development of all users of our Computerized Maintenance Management System & assure that the equipment databases are up-to-date.
  • Provides technical support in the implementation and development of PM and PDM routines in MP2 based on Reliability Centered Maintenance principles.
  • Update MP2 reference files about specifications of equipment, spare parts, drawings, history, manuals, forms, policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the selection & addition of equipment group(s) to be covered by the Maintenance program.
  • Modify frequencies & procedures for Preventive & Predictive Maintenance tasks based on RCM feedback.
  • Work with Supervisor & other members of the maintenance team to maintain a continued spare part(s) inventory item number for all designated parts.
  • Attaching part numbers to the equipment parts list and follow-up with the necessary requisition should be prepared to acquire the part.
  • Set up and train new MP database users. Project management
  • Work with Technicians, supervisors & other members of the maintenance team to prepare request for quotations & contract documents for tasks to be undertaken during outage.
  • Assist electrical engineer in planning and coordinating electrical distribution outage to address high risk areas identified through thermal imaging.
  • Coordinate crane inspection and repair process conducted by outside crane service provider
  • Analyze vibration data and set a plan of action to repair or replace critical motors; blowers and fans indicating high risk of failure.
  • Work with the supervisor to prepare annual contract requisition based on historical usage and forecasted projects.
  • Prepare Microsoft Project Schedule for annual equipment outages.
  • Manage contractor labor hours and contractor safety program elements including but not limited to : contractor safety training;

contractor project manager assignments; and contractor labor hour collection.

  • Participate in the generation of parts requisition & service contracts for annual turn-around projects.
  • Generate work order & parts report for tracking discrepancies between actual versus required parts during annual outages.
  • Enter capital and expense requisitions for expenditure as directed by FE and maintenance teams. Key Performance Indicators
  • Managing maintenance metrics program & ensuring fulfillment by setting up indicators that provide information related to amounts and quality of fulfillment.

Key performance indicators included but are not limited to : human performance index; PM execution % target >

90%; Calibration on time completion >

99%; and Equipment availability >

90%.

  • Generate weekly reports based on the above indicators and ensure follow-up and quantity control compliance to our targeted metrics / indicators.
  • Maintain continuous communications with Procurement in order to ensure compliance to performance indicators.
  • Detect areas of opportunity through the analysis of work orders and machinery histories together with control indicators.
