What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mold Technician position at Howmet Aerospace?
Position Summary : Inspect, repair and maintain all mold asseblies and tundishes.
Supervisory Responsibilities : N/A
Essential Duties :
- Inspect, repair, and maintain cast molds per standard operating procedures.
- Maintain and repair tundishes per standard operating procedures.
- Inspect and prepare header plates and coatings.
- Complate and maintain mold record data.
- Maintain mold area housekeeping, 5S and inventory of materials.
- Read and understand all warning labels, JSA and MSDS.
Additional Duties :
- Operate forklift when needed
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 4 years experience working in a mechanical role (manufacturing, automotive, or military)
- Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of foundry or casting experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to safely use a variety of hand and power tools
- Ability to use measuring tools to verify dimensions
Working Conditions :
- Flexible hours, overtime may be required.
Physical Demands :
- Lifting : Medium - Lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 50 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 25 pounds.
- Standing : Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
- Walking : Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
