Our state-of-the-art investment casting facility in LaPorte, Indiana is seeking a Dispatch Supervisor to join our team. Nestled between South Bend and Chicago, along the shores of Lake Michigan - our facility in LaPorte, Indiana supplies jet engine components to some of the most trusted names in the Aerospace industry.

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the efficient, safe and environmentally sound operation of Howmet Transport Services; including satellite terminals of Howmet Transport Services, Inc, facilities, equipment and personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Execute the activities of the HTSI business model to meet organizational and financial goals, initiatives and requirements.
- Maintain standard policies, procedures and practices to ensure customer requirements.
- Maintain uniform HTSI performance metrics and reporting systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Consistently demonstrates Howmet Aerospace Values.
- Complies with all of Howmet policies/procedures.
- Complies with all EHS rules required for plant activity.
- Comply with all DOT on the road safety measures.
- Strategic coordination of schedules - equipment and driver utilization, freight maximization, assess truck schedules and capability matrix to understand and coordinate outsourcing as necessary to minimize cost and maximize revenue.
- Respond to customer inquiries related to transportation of freight. This happens in three basic forms - plant needs contrary to HTSI standard model, vendor requests, and supplier requests.
- Ensures day to day equipment availability and reliability with current lessor of equipment.
- Must be able to function as a member of a team, assist team members when needed and be able to work under general supervision.
- Oversees the day-to-day operational functions of HTSI personnel and partners with contract driver supervision to ensure their job functions are being performed properly and that all safety and EHS regulations are met.
- Prepares and submits various reports as may be requested by Howmet management.
- Reviews and approves payroll information for leased drivers and dockworkers.
JOB SPECIFICIATIONS
Education:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A degree in Transportation Management and/or at least 7 years of experience in the trucking industry is required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to assist in effectively interacting with customers, suppliers, or employees within the company.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to function as a member of a team, assist team members when needed and be able to work under general supervision.
- Performs routine special projects, as directed.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement programs.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Experience:
- A minimum of seven (7) years of dispatch and/or management experience in a common carrier or private carrier environment involving LTL freight.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
