Controller

Hoxton Circle has partnered with a client in the investment management space located in Scottsdale, AZ , on their search for a Controller. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a company who is established and high growth with anticipation to acquire additional companies in the coming months. 

The successful candidate will lead the Accounting function and will have a strong record of leading a team of financial professionals to develop best-in-class accounting processes with the ability to provide solid guidance on complex transactions.

Job Duties:

• Manage all accounting functions for four (4) operating divisions.
• Oversee month-end closing process including bank reconciliations, supporting all balance sheet accounts, recording accruals, adjusting journal entries, and analyzing results.
• Present company financials and operating results to executive leadership team, investors, and company sponsors.
• Manage all accounting operations and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, including but not limited to the monthly/annual close process, budget and forecasting, and revenue recognition.
• Member of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures and identifies, resolves, and documents accounting and operational issues.
• Manage consolidated annual audit and tax matters.
• Manage the formulation of budgets and forecasts and preparation of variance analyses.
• Assist Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and FMG Division President in developing and performing timely analysis and reporting on operational performance as it relates to the business activities and trends, including monitoring margins and variances, to better understand business trends and drive decision making.
• Manages network of accounting systems and partners that can scale with the growth of the brand.
• Drive the maturation process of our post-acquisition integration function by developing integration playbooks across multi-department and function groups.
• Build scalable integration function to continue M&A growth.
• Develop best practices and effective SOPs.
  

Requirements:

• 10 years in managerial accounting
• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration Accounting, Finance
• Preferred MBA, CPA, or CMA.
• Experience with manufacturing.
• Experience with stock options and 409 A accounting.
• Public Accounting experience highly desired (minimum 5 years of SOX experience) 
• Deep knowledge and understanding of full P&L
