Position Title Estimator

Reports To: Project Managers

Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading and managing estimates in coordination with the Project Managers from conceptual through GMP.

Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up Master Estimate Templates for projects, pre-bid processes, and divisional takeoffs
• Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labor and equipment
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors
• Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame
• Assessing the risk levels associated with a project
• Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done
• Assisting with bids for new contracts
• Document management
• Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within estimated costs
• Manage the entire project estimate including divisions 1-33 for those projects assigned.
• To maintain a positive attitude, bringing the team closer together to accomplish the work.

Hiring Requirements/Preferences

• 2-year degree in construction related field
• 2 years estimating experience in construction field
• Ability to read MEP, civil, structured, and architectural drawings.
• Ability to work additional hours as necessary to meet business plan objectives.
• Ability to travel as necessary.
• Physical ability to review progress at construction sites
• Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Experience with Procore and HH2 software preferred
• Detail-oriented
• Exceptional communication skills
• Strong organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Work independently with minimal supervision
