Salary: For candidates based in NY this position typically pays between $91,600 - $104,000.

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm; hours subject to change and overtime as necessary.

Plans, coordinates, and directs food safety, regulatory and quality standards in the Vernon, NY manufacturing facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor and develop FSQR technicians, supervisors and QMS/SQF associates.
• Foster a culture of quality and collaboration amongst peers and plant personnel.
• Manage staff responsible for maintaining accurate records of all product testing and quality management system compliance.
• Formulates and maintains Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory objectives in conjunction with corporate policies and goals.
• In conjunction with Sales, manage all customer complaints or quality issues and determine what action or remedy needs to be implemented, both internally and externally.
• Performs quality process and product reviews to ensure compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company QMS.
• Collaborate on plant KPI's and make recommendations as needed.
• Lead or collaborate in RCA, CAPA, AAR's and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Key contact for Regulatory agencies, customers and other 3 party inspections.
• Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
• Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
• Maintains current awareness of Regulatory issues and implementation of compliance requirements.
• Maintains all SQF/QMS requirements.
• Collaborates to develop and maintain a culture of proactive quality.
• Travel as required.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• B.S. degree in Biology, Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years quality or management experience.
• 3 years managing quality staff.
• Working knowledge of plant quality systems, laboratory functions and manufacturing operations.
• Working knowledge of FDA and PMO and other government/regulatory requirements.

• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Certification and/or License - Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification or attainment of PCQI within 12 months of hiring.
• Mature leadership and team building skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
