Job Function:
Under the direction of the Distribution Manager, the Distribution Supervisor will guide and support the daily activities/processes in the Distribution department. This role will be “hands on” providing ongoing support of the daily departmental operations and may be on site or delivering as needed or determined by the Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise the consolidation of customer orders into multi-stop truckload deliveries, filling the trucks out to their fullest while meeting customer’s requirements regarding on time delivery.
- Supervision of customer service, drivers, and garage functions including scheduling drivers and managing garage/yard repairs.
- Communicate with Customer Service personnel any customer issues such as late deliveries, detention, or other problems.
- Strong motivator in cultivating and reinforcing safety initiatives.
- Hold regular driver safety meetings.
- Perform regular safety observations, complete and review incident reports.
- Analyzing routing efficiency.
- Oversee daily logs and perform log audits.
- Conduct ride-a-longs.
- Update Driver and DOT files, and maintain OSHA compliance.
- Create various Distribution and Transportation reports/spreadsheets.
- Other objectives as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Current, valid CDL-A license.
- Clean motor vehicle record (both personal and commercial – 5 yrs.) and no major citations within past 36 months.
- Must be able to drive a commercial standard truck.
- Experience in, but not limited to, route structuring, safety, cost management and customer satisfaction.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Proven knowledge of DOT, FMCSA & HOS regulations and distribution safety management.
- At least 3 years of experience in a distribution/transportation environment.
- Prior experience in supervising drivers preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office & Outlook products preferred.
- Experience with routing software programs preferred.

Qualifications:
